I began piano studies at the age of eight, even though I was playing "by ear" at around the age of 5. One of my most influential piano teachers was Ms. Grace B. McCutcheon of Virginia who prepared me for entry into the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music of Shenandoah University, where I studied piano with professors Dr. Betty Oberacker and Henry Black, pipe organ studies with Dr. Stephen Cooksey and voice training under Jerri Ann Bond and Lloyd Robb.

After graduation from the Shenandoah Conservatory, I lived in the District of Columbia for a number of years and taught piano privately.  During this time, I was also one of the piano dance accompanists for the Washington School of Ballet. While living in the District, I performed frequently in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall and at Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts with world-renowned orchestras and conductors as a member of Norman Scribner's Choral Arts Society of Washington, Robert Shafer's Oratorio Society of Washington (now The Washington Chorus), and Dr Paul Traver's University of Maryland Chorus.

I have lived in San Francisco since 1979, having performed with Vance George's San Francisco Symphony Chorus in Davies Symphony Hall. And I have taught piano privately for much of this time. I have also appeared as pianist in Kennedy Center and on regional recital series and performance venues on the east coast, in the southern states and in the San Francisco Bay Area at San Francisco's Noontime Concerts.

Today, my focus is on audio/video recording and private teaching.
